Hôtel Louison: a Left Bank lifestyle series, in February
Hôtel Louison occupies an 1856 building on rue de Vaugirard, between Montparnasse and Saint-Germain-des-Prés. I shot a lifestyle series there in February 2026, photo and video, prepared in advance by the property.

Context
Hôtel Louison is an independent four-star in the 6th arrondissement, set in an 1856 building split across two wings, one on the street, one on the courtyard. The property was renovated in phases between 2019 and 2023, in a palette of celadon, buttercup and pearl grey. It has no public bar and no restaurant, but it does have a private wellness space reserved for guests, Le Cocon.
Challenge
The brief was not a standard hotel reportage. The property wanted a lifestyle series, with someone in frame, to feed its social channels as much as its website. That asks for something other than an empty room: a scene that holds, light that does not betray the hour it claims, and vertical frames usable as they are.
Approach
The moodboard and the wardrobe direction were settled by the property before the shoot, which meant a full day of work with no decisions left to make on site. The courtyard-facing rooms give softer light in the middle of the day; the end-of-day scenes play out on the sconces alone. Breakfast and Le Cocon were treated as two separate subjects, each with its own set of output formats.
Deliverables
A photo selection and a Reel delivered in early March, then two further videos in April. The images cover the rooms, breakfast served in the dining room and the wellness space.
Usage rights
Releases are on file for everyone appearing in frame. The exact scope of the licence granted to the property is not restated here: it sits in the quote.
Outcome
A second session is still pending. It was meant to complete the series on the spaces not covered in February, and will be scheduled on a future trip to Paris. See also the hotel photographer in Paris page.
