Event photographer in Paris

I photograph brand nights, launches, activations and bartender competitions in Paris, mostly for spirits and hospitality brands. Four Paris events are published here, image by image: Hennessy, Nikka, Jack Daniel’s and St-Germain.

By Ahoueke Hilaire, an advertising photographer based in Marseille, producing since 2016 for Hennessy, Jack Daniel’s, Monkey Shoulder and St-Germain.

Four brand events photographed in Paris, all published here

An event photographer’s page should be judged on what it shows. This one rests on four events that really took place in Paris, each published with its context, the constraint of the day and what was delivered.

On 13 November 2025, the final stop of the Hennessy Very Special Tour at Journey, for Skillz Agency: a food and cocktail pairing night by chef Sho Miyashita and bartender Robin Jude Le Texier, photographed from the first plate to the end of the night.

On 2 and 3 December 2024, the Nikka Perfect Serve international final at Bar Fréquence, for La Maison du Whisky: fifteen bartenders from around the world, two days of competition, seven hundred images delivered.

On 15 May 2023, Last Round, Jack Daniel’s bartender competition: twenty bartenders, semi-finals in the afternoon and a final at night, four cocktails in four minutes in front of the jury. And on 18 June 2026, the opening of La Douce Heure, St-Germain’s pop-up bar on the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann rooftop, produced by Monks, delivered express, with five visuals shown all summer on out-of-home and DOOH.

Brand nights and launches

A brand night has to produce two things at once: the atmosphere, with guests and a room that feel alive, and the product, sharp and legible, label included. At Journey, both had to be held in the same night.

Bartender competitions

A competition allows no retakes. A shake or a flamed zest cannot be asked again of someone competing for their place. Positioning follows the running order, not the light, and the moments that must exist are decided in advance.

Activations and pop-up bars

An activation lives in a short window, often before doors open. On the Galeries Lafayette rooftop, the shot order was set before going up, because the light was falling faster than the bar was being built.

A night cannot be shot twice: everything is decided beforehand

An event is photographed at the pace of the room, never the photographer’s. The light changes when doors open, service speeds up, and a missed gesture cannot be asked of someone at work.

The work starts before guests arrive: finding the light while the venue is still empty, deciding where to stand for the speech or the final, and writing down the images that must exist whatever happens.

I work in available light when the venue allows it and with flash when the room is too dark, which is the case in most bars after nightfall. That call is made at the recce, not during the night.

Three uses from the same night

Event coverage serves three needs with different framings. Social wants vertical and faces. Press wants wide shots that place the venue. The brand wants its products sharp and its logo legible.

Planning all three during the night costs far less than reshooting one the next day, once the set is gone. Images are delivered in 16:9, 4:5, 1:1 and 9:16 from the same shoot. At the Nikka Perfect Serve final, that meant seven hundred images over two days.

Based in Marseille, in Paris with no travel fee

Paris is three hours by train and travel is not charged, transport and accommodation included. I also travel for brand events beyond Paris: Monkey Shoulder’s World Music Day in London in June 2025, Camp Monkey in Marseille in September 2025, and the opening of Maison Lichen in Bordeaux in 2026.

Events, photographed while they happened

Every image was made in real conditions, during the event, with nothing restaged.

Frequently asked, events in Paris

What kind of events do you photograph in Paris?

Mainly brand events: brand nights and launches, bartender competitions, activations and pop-up bars, hotel and bar openings, mostly in spirits, cocktails and hospitality. Corporate seminars and weddings are not my field.

Is travel to Paris charged?

No. Transport and accommodation are included, with no extra line on the quote.

Can you deliver quickly after the event?

Yes, when it is planned in the quote. For La Douce Heure, images were delivered express. Otherwise, the contact sheet arrives within five working days and final delivery within ten.

Do you work with event agencies?

Yes. The Hennessy night was commissioned by Skillz Agency, La Douce Heure was produced by Monks, and the Nikka final by La Maison du Whisky. I fit into the agency’s running order, with one point of contact and a shot list agreed before the day.

An event in Paris?

The brief form takes three minutes: date, venue, running order, and where the images will live afterwards. That is what allows a real quote, and a night prepared before it starts.
